Developed by the MIT Media Lab, Scratch is a visual programming language for children age 6 and up. Scratch website defines it as “a programming language that makes it easy to create interactive art, stories, simulations, and games – and share those creations online”.
What can you do with Scratch?
- Do you like to draw? Draw pictures, graphics and illustrations on Scratch. With those pictures, you can write a story or get a friend to work with you who can come up with a story. You can create animation effects to your creations to make a live story on Scratch Stage.
- Create art projects, musical bands, dance parties and puzzles with snapping scratch blocks and your imagination. It is easy to start and create your first project with Scratch with an example.
- Build your own video games like platfromer games, car racing, maze, trivia and much more.
